tools to guided reflection
the teacher as a reflective practitioner
As a teacher you need to constantly reflect on your practise. You must reflect in practise, on practise, and for practise. you need to be aware of the fact that no two lessons can be the same when you reflect in practise you are constantly engaged in this self talk were you assess the lesson you see weather or not they understand you. during this reflection process you note they are not getting you what can you do to reach them what other way can you explain this content or topic so that they can get your point. when reflecting on practise you look back on the lesson "what happened?" "what can I improve?" "what went well?" you consistently give yourself feedback on the lesson so that you can improve. reflection for practise is looking ahead "what could go wrong?" "what should I prepare"? "what if this does not work"? this helps you to anticipate what the lesson may entail what could be a treat and misconceptions the students may have on the topic.
